Bio

Born in 1985 near Mons into a family of musicians, Alexandre Cavaliere grew up surrounded by swing and Gypsy jazz.
From a very young age, he played alongside his father, with whom he would share the stage until 2023.
At the age of 11, he was noticed by Didier Lockwood and Babik Reinhardt, who invited him to the Django d’Or ceremonies in Brussels and Paris.
This early spotlight marked the beginning of a unique journey: Alexandre recorded his first album at the age of 12 and quickly established himself as one of the rising talents of jazz violin.

Over the years, he multiplied decisive musical encounters.
With Dorado Schmitt, he discovered the international scene: Birdland in New York, a U.S. tour, the Half Note in Athens, concerts in Italy…
Later, his collaboration with Fabrizio Cassol and the musicians of Aka Moon opened his playing to modern and experimental influences.

Alexandre has performed at prestigious venues and festivals such as SFJAZZ (San Francisco), Nancy Jazz Pulsations,
the Django Reinhardt Festival in Fontainebleau, Jazz Middelheim as a guest of Philip Catherine, Salle Pleyel (Paris),
the Cirque Royal (Brussels), the Django Festival in Nouméa (New Caledonia), and the April Jazz Festival (Finland).

He has shared the stage with major figures in jazz and Gypsy jazz, including Bireli Lagrène, Toots Thielemans, Philip Catherine,
Stochelo Rosenberg, Dorado Schmitt, and Fabrizio Cassol.
These encounters nourish a style that blends swing, contemporary jazz, and world music.

An inventive bandleader, Alexandre develops several personal projects:
the Manouche Moderne Quintet, the Tribute to Didier Lockwood, his duo with guitarist Adrien Brogna exploring jazz and world music,
and a new quartet currently in preparation for his upcoming album.
Each of these projects reflects his desire to combine the tradition that shaped him with a constant search for openness and musical evolution.

Since 2018, Alexandre has been endorsed by luthier Fabien Gram,
whose exceptional violins allow him to perform at his full potential.
This collaboration, built on trust and high standards, has become an integral part of his sonic identity.
Since 2019, he has been represented by the agency
Scene Off (Michel Schoonbroodt & Marisol Palomo),
who support the development and dissemination of his artistic projects.

Alongside his performing career, Alexandre is a passionate educator.
He teaches jazz violin at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussels, in music academies, and during specialized workshops, where he shares his experience with younger generations.

Today, Alexandre Cavaliere stands as one of the most creative violinists of his generation,
capable of blending the heritage of Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli with contemporary explorations
that continually expand the horizons of jazz violin.
